Swakopmund – Mondesa Clinic has been temporarily shut down after a fire broke out in the early hours of the morning, the Ministry of Health and Social Services has confirmed.
Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the fire, and an investigation is currently underway. Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were reported.
With the clinic out of operation, the ministry has put alternative arrangements in place. Residents requiring medical attention should visit Tamariskia Clinic, while antenatal care, family planning, and immunization services will be provided at the DRC Clinic. Those in need of wound care services should go to Swakopmund District Hospital.

In an official statement, the ministry reassured the public that efforts are being made to restore services as quickly as possible. “We are working closely with the Ministry of Works and Transport to ensure Mondesa Clinic is operational again soon. In the meantime, we ask for patience and cooperation, as other health facilities may experience an increase in patient numbers.”
